Monash Children’s Allied Health is based at Monash Children’s Hospital. We provide services to acute paediatric inpatients and outpatients and work closely with our colleagues at Casey & Dandenong Hospitals, in rehabilitation (VPRS) and community settings.

About the role

This vacancy has 2 components, clinical and non clinical responsibilities with Profession Lead responsibilities for the Monash Children's Hospital (MCH) acute physiotherapy team.  

Clinical responsibilities include service provision to Neonatal Intensive Care and Special Care Nursery for the high risk infant population as well as outpatient follow up. There is also a responsibility to oversee daily physiotherapy workloads and assist in the delivery of physiotherapy service to the acute wards.

As the Physiotherapy Lead at Monash Children’s Hospital you will collaborate with colleagues across the service to foster clinical excellence and consistency of practice. As a clinical expert you will lead the physiotherapy team, develop and maintain strong links with universities and your Monash Health physiotherapy colleagues.

Part time or job share arrangements will be considered. The Profession Lead component of this role could be undertaken in conjunction with any paediatric clinical specialty caseload or the high risk infant caseload could be undertaken without profession lead responsibilities.

The role will be based at Monash Children’s Hospital. Travel may be required across the hospital sites and community locations.​

What we’re looking for in you

  • An appropriate physiotherapy qualification
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others
  • Extensive experience in teaching, training and education
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and leadership in an area of practice including the ability to undertake professional supervision and promote professional competence of other physiotherapy staff
