About the Role

As part of its response to the Royal Commission into Family Violence, this government initiative relates to Recommendation 95 which requires a ‘whole of hospital’ model for responding to family violence in public hospitals within three to five years.

 

We are seeking a Project Manager to further implement and administer Monash Health’s Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence project. This involves education of all health care staff in awareness of family violence, sensitive enquiry and family violence support services.

 

In this role you will provide leadership to Monash Health staff in relation to family violence, and work constructively with the Mental Health Family Violence Initiative and with the Elder Abuse Integrated Model of Care Project and will also support the Workplace Responsiveness to Family Violence initiative and Communications. 

 

In addition, you will provide mentoring and support to Calvary Health Care Bethlehem, Kooweerup Regional Health Service and Queen Elizabeth Centre in the implementation of this initiative.

 

This role will be appointed on a fixed term basis through until May 2020.

Since 2016, Monash Health has been working on this project in collaboration with the Royal Women’s Hospital to provide education to

  • Help staff identify enquire, support and respond to family violence
  • Build health professionals confidence, understanding and skill to address family violence
  • Work closely and collaboratively with health staff, government and community organisations.

A taskforce with key organisational representatives currently guides this work.

 

You have:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in social work, allied health, nursing or a related area
  • Knowledge and understanding of family violence incidence, evidence, policy and service delivery environment in Victoria 
  • Demonstrated experience managing, developing and coordinating complex projects in a large organisation
  • Experience delivering training, preferably training pertaining to family violence   
  • Experience engaging, communicating and managing relationships with a diversity of stakeholders       
  • Experience managing staff
